Also a decorator to paint the new boards and freshen existing ceiling walls. The whole project will last over several weeks - at age 91 years - I do not welcome this level of upheaval."

Contacted the company who where quick to come out. Person who came out was very pushy and made us feel as though it was in dyer need to be done. Unfortunately agreed to have the work done to which we then had to sign a form to say we couldn't cancel 14 days prior. This was the Friday and they wanted to start work on the Monday. Work carried out was good except there was no damp proofing really done other than the wood and the stuff they sprayed on. No wrapping the ends of the brand new joist we had just paid for seemings there was water still under the house. Have spoken to several companies regarding the work and they would have charged less than half of what we paid.

Hi Lucie,

Firstly we would like to apologise for the fact that you were unhappy with our service, this has come as quite a shock to us as we have never had any negative feedback such as this with any customer in many years of trading and also because we felt that our team got on very well with you and your family throughout works being carried out.

After looking through our previous paperwork I would like to point out that the time scale of our initial visit to the works being complete were not as you suggested above. The initial visit took place on 25/07/17 which was a Tuesday, this was the date that you signed to give us permission to carry out work on you property within the 14 day cooling off period which you seem to have confused with something else. (Copies of this agreement are available if you wish to view them) As for our surveyor suggesting that the work was in dyer need of being done, this is true we did recommend that the work was carried out as soon as possible because the condition of the floor was extremely dangerous to the point we advised that nobody should walk on it and actually did you a favour in organising the work to start on 31/07/17.

All work was carried out as agreed using pre-pressure treated timbers and high grade marine ply which is a perfect job and will be there for many years to come. Extra work to the hallway floor was also completed at no additional cost and as a good will gesture.

As for the completion of the damp proofing works to the property we had the job scheduled to be carried out on 04/09/17 which you later cancelled as you said that you had forgotten that a family member was qualified to carry out the work and that they were going to do it for you.
